You wouldn't get subfolders appearing in your Plug-In insert pop-up. But, your plug-ins will be organized on how you arrange them in folders. Example: if you created a compressors, filters etc...folders and then stuck all of your respective plug-ins in their associated folders. In the Plug-Ins insert pop-up, all the compressors would be at the top followed by the filters...etc.
I also remember reading that you have to ditch the folders prior to updating PTLE, otherwise the old plugins wouldn't be updated. Haven't tried this though. Wonder how it work if you have Waves Gold as well, those plugins reside in the Waves folder and not in the DAE plugins folder.

Did you try it? I have my compressors, filters, delays ect plug-ins organized exactly as how I described above. Obviously, for Waves, this can't work since it is a shell merely "pointing" to where your plugins are located.
Could a DIGI guy answer this question please? I'm sure many are intersted in the question "HOW DOES PRO TOOLS DETERMINE THE ARRANGEMENT OF THE PLUGINS/AUDIOSUITE LISTS"??? I reformat my drive every couple months, and the last time the plugs were all jumbled up, with waves here and there, digrack here and there, etc. When I re-format and installed everything clean, all of a sudden the plugs were arranged very nicely by company. I'm gonna go try the folder thing. I'm on a PC, so I hope it works for both.
Hey IO Perhalps I can help How many hard drives do you have? What are you using to reformat your drives? Where do you store your data when reformating?
