Free MPEG4-encoder

At the home page, you'll check that doom9 has posted info about dicas posting at All you have to do is fill out an application and you're able to download it. While I'm not really interested in the encoder at all, I was wondering about the player. Is the player free as well? In the FAQ, it said the player can't play any file greater than 352*xxx resolution? Is that true? Also is it able to decode a mpeg 4 file that is mux with a aac audio file? Can it also decode mpeg 4 files using advance functions such as b-frames and q-pel? Thx.

This does not work. Machine hangs. Dialog boxes are all mixed up. Encodes only in 352x288. Not worth the trouble. I had to restore my ghost image to contimue

The encoder never worked for me, neither with files, neither in capture mode; total waste of time. Guess it was an easy way to grow their database bigger!

I've never been able to register the license though I've already had a POP code :( The website is buggy!

I tried it. It works for me. I will say the performace and output was not stunning. But it was functional. It played back all the clips it encoded as well. I still preffer my Xvid.
