Im a newbie and there has to be a simple answer to this question. When I select a time segment on a track, split the track at that time segment, then remove the portion that I selected, The section remaining on the right automatically slides left to joint the remaining left section. It does not heal to the left section, just slide up to it. THis forces me to have to drag the right section back to it's original location. I just want sections to stay put where they are when I remove others... How?

Make sure you do not have "Ripple Edit" turned on and use Ctrl+Del to cut the selected area of the selected items. No need to split before hand... D
