960 T6?

I am in the middle of a similar conversion, T5 into a 242, but the T6 motor would be easier, well a little bit! i.e you can use the original 960 sump and no cutting involved, you would need a manual M90 out of a 2,5 960 and this would bolt right in, would be a lovely conversion!

Do you rekon the 'box would be strong enough, cos the T6 motor pumps outh a fair few horses more than the 2.5 :speechless-smiley-6

Wow. I've heard of our American friends adding a turbo to the 3.0 24v engine, but this swap would be... awesome - and I don't usually use such praise. Doitdoitdoitdoit :D

the twin turbos of the s80 motor is the limiting factor , junk them for a single bigger turbo and youll liberate some decent hp. the turbo 6 motor has some subtle differences to the NA one . you can build one with a mix of 2.5 and 3.0 motors , using the 2.5 block and the 3.0 crank and rods with T5 pistons (shares the same bore since it basically the same engine with a cylinder added) , youll have about 2.8 liters (ie the t6)and lower compression pistons which according to the swedes will be good for over 450 bhp . they can still suffer from split bores like the 5cyl on high boost pressures with the larger bores due to open deck design .

according to all the parts books I've got at the workshop that my suppliers give me it shows some S80's use the B6304S engine, as many of the parts are common to the 960/S90/V90/S80 but I'll have a look next week & see if I can confirm this for certian

i think youll find most of the turbo 7/9 series cars will wipe the smile of most chavs anyway . only thing youll find hard is the steering column / turbo , so that might involve some fabrication .
