pt 6 and digital timepiece

The DTP communicates SMPTE via serial Midi,........ Digi`s quote again *** Serial MIDI support removed from Mac OS X version 10.2.2 and higher by Apple. Only USB MIDI interfaces are compatible with Pro Tools systems for Mac OS X. Modem-to-serial port adapters and serial MIDI devices are not supported with Pro Tools 6.0.1 and Mac OS 10.2.3, 10.2.4, 10.2.5 or 10.2.6. Digi please comment on this scenario Thanx in advance

Hey Andre, Are you currently using the Griffin with a DTP or MTP and is it working successfully? Digi ....is this a scenario that will likely to start not working.........?

Hey KP Just a note. I have a DTP, a dual 1.25 G4, OSX, and PT6. There is NO Serial port adaptor on my system There is NO Serial to Midi box on my system ALL I have is a tiny USB / Midiman box. The DTP connects via Midi to the Midiman, which is connected via USB to the computer. Pro-Tools see the DTP(as well as my HUI) and syncs just fine. No problems!!! So before you gut your Mac, removing parts you may need later, try out my solution first. It works. Period. Good Luck!
