I had the same problem. I loaded the subtitles into Maestro and it kept sustaining the popups too long. I noticed that Maestro was repeating popups several times. I manually elliminated the duplicated popups and now it plays fine. Now if only i could get the spider sense icon/documentary thing to work.
I guess I'll try to re-rip the pop ups again. Have you seen this post: it appears not all of the pop ups may make it onto the authored copy. Did you set the width and height to 750x480 when you ripped?
Yeah, I haven't tried Brett's program. I was already done with my numerous deletings when i read it. Too bad, sounds like a good solution. I don't know if it keeps the fading balloon effect though. Resolution was 720X480... NTSC..

well there is nothing more to add to Brett's post except that I can offer u my maestro project of SpiderMan. The fading effect of subs is a command that is supported in the stl format of Maestro. Don't know if this command works at the son format. It goes like this $FadeIn = 5 $FadeOut = 2
