Socks proxy

NINJAM isn't an HTTP server. That probably makes a difference.

Hi I know that Ninjam is not a HTTP server. :) What i meant was that I use a socks proxy server (port 1080), for network traffic other than HTTP. For HTTP i use HTTP proxy server (port 8080). What i want to know is if is possible to tell Ninjam to use the socks proxy server, and how to tell Ninjam to use it. Cheers

Ah, clearly I need to read up more on SOCKS... I've only ever seen it used for HTTP proxying. Sorry about that!

Yes it is possible, but by other means. I'm sure this one should do it but if not look for similar. Also unrelated to this but to the spammer: We had someone on Ninjamers too making an account and manually spamming a few, what a waste of life.

hello XCF, socks is not natively implemented inside ninjam client, or reaninjam (ninjam plugin inside reaper), anyway, as stated before, you can use a socks 'tunneler' program to route the ninjam traffic through a socks proxy. Like this for example : Hope it helps!

The spammer must be a kid? Do they know there IP will be logged and illicit spam is illegal now? :D People just think there so safe from the law just cos there not physically there. :S Freecap is free, its ok but has some limitations or more work to achieve end results. Proxifier is only a demo but very quick and easy to use and has some network stuff which is handy. It also allows for cascading proxies which means you can route though 2 or 3 proxies, sometimes this can achieve a faster quicker route. You may say have a fast connection to a local proxy, it doesn't to the destination but does to another proxy which does have faster route to destination. Freecap does allow this but in a limited way and more permanent settings.
