Rewire: MIDI in use by another app

ciao! didn't find an answer thru the search engine so I ask for some help on this I'm setting up my MIDI thing in reaps and I can't go any further when I open Reason says midi in use by another application I've been working fine past years with Live but I cannot recall my old settings there.. I've been using my Keystation49e both in Live and Reason at that time but now reason says that I cannot use the same "shared" keyboard any ideas here on Reapy? big thanks

or! can somebody tell me his/her MIDI config both in Reap & Reason? I couldn't find anything useful on google neither it's a matter of MIDI ports. if I enable my usb key in reap, Reason says that MIDI ports are busy.. just have to sort this out...work's awaiting me :D

Oh, this thread must have slipped through.. Sorry, I can't be of very much help either, as I don't do ReWire anymore. Basically to make Reason be a ReWire slave of Reaper you initialize the apropriate ReWire plugin one of Reaper's tracks. It looks like any other FX plugin, find it in the ReWire folder of the FX list window (or type rewire into the filter of the FX list). If you chose the plugin "ReWire: Reason", Reason will open automatically as a ReWire slave, so you can route your MIDI via Reaper to Reason. This is very different from other ReWire implementations, as one of Reaper's tracks does all the connection and you route everything else as sends from/to that track. Another restriction: You can only have 16 channels of MIDI going to Reason (Could be this has changed in the meantime). Hope this helps a little. thanx for answering I think it's MIDI port issue rather than a rewire issue actually how you choose which midi port you want to use? I mean in reap
