Digital Boost Gauge issues.

Evening Chap's I have a Digital boost gauge and since getting it, it has not worked its just says 64.4 on the screen and the error light it on. I have it connected to the vacum pipe using a T piece I know this works as I had a vacum one one before and that was fine. As far as I am aware it is wired up right, What could be the cause of this issue. Cheers all. Matt.

First of all I'd get the sender unit checked. The place you bought it from should be able to either check it's OK or lend you a replacement. Secondly, although you may think it's wired up correctly, only a qualified auto electrician will be able to tell you for sure. A friend of mine is having problems with boost gauge wiring, despite being fitted by an almost godlike electrical genius. And no, it wasn't me.... Paul

Is the gauge connected directly to a vac hose? unplug the vac hose and switch the car on. The gauge should be 0 since it will be detecting atmosphere. You could also hook one of those small footpumps and put a little pressure into the gauge to see if it reads that.
