As I'm working my way thru Reaper, learning as I go. I came across the asio setting which I can't seem to figure out. The Wav Out works fine, but selecting asio4all doesn't produce any sound. In both audio and midi. I do however use asio4all in other programs on this computer with no problem. I did search the forums for an answer but even though I found quit a bit on asio, nothing really addressed this problem... Hopefully since I'm new to Reaper its just a setting that I missed... Any ideas ??? Make sure you are not running another app that uses the drivers or device. I found that I couldn't use ASIO4all when I had Firefox running with video in it. I could be wrong, but I quit Firefox and Reaper has sound. just a thouht.
Thanks for the replies guys. I went through all your suggestions but still have no sound when using asio. I'll add, as I hunted around I noticed the VU's ARE active when I hit play. And I also noticed in the I/O (routing) of the track and mixer that under "audio hardware outputs" everything listed there says "not connected 1 / not connected 2" However when I switch from ASIO to Wav Out, then under that same "audio hardware outputs" I found Hardware Left Output/ Right Output. And I can then hear the tracks play. How then do you 'connect' the outputs while in ASIO ??? Thanks again, SG
i use asio4all and have no problems. only time is dont get audio is when i like drillbit said it i already have a video app running before hand like youtube or music or something like that. i just close it out and everything works fine.
