ReaScript: Item/Track colors using "I_CUSTOMCOLOR"?

Anyone had success redecorating an Item or Track using the "I_CUSTOMCOLOR" param? I haven't. Apologies if the state of this param has been mentioned before but after seeing "I_FADEINSHAPE" come to life in the form of "C_FADEINSHAPE" I thought I'd ask anyway. I use an AutoHotKey script (with GUI) and custom colour scheme to liven up items in my projects. The script is a pretty solid performer but would be much faster and direct using ReaScript. I admit that I didn't know extensions for such a feature existed until I dropped in here and saw the work of others. Either way, I have a few new ideas that I'd like to try once I'm able to set colors with ReaScript.
