Hey Gang, Anybody know of a VST plug that converts polyphonic audio to MIDI? Any freebies that you know about? Have you used them? Worth a darn? I have seen the ads for the Widisoft converter. Not sure I want to spend that much on a plug I may never use again. If you have used it, I'd love to get your feedback. Worth it to you? Just to be clear... I have several audio tracks that were recorded using the audio output of standard keyboard based synths. The files are in standard wav format as recorded by Reaper. Like a damn fool, I forgot to record the MIDI info from the synths at the same time. I'd like to go back and use the audio tracks as the source, run 'em through a VST plug and output a MIDI stream reflecting the audio information. I'm OK with using an external program if necessary, but a plugin is more desirable. Thanks! ted
Rephrase (Leapfrog Audio) does monophonic audio to MIDI very well. It is the only one of the several I have tried that will do voice to MIDI well. I know of none, other than Melodyne with DNA (should be out in Sept.), that will do a good job with polyphonic audio. PS voice to MIDI track FX chain: ReaGate (remove LF background noise) -> Melodyne (for Pitch Correction and Quantizing Time plus any 'blob' editing) -> Rephrase (produces MIDI file).
audioscore sounds very promising. But no Vista x64 MIDI driver which is a show stopper for me and for many more Windows users who are switching to x64. I wonder if their MIDI driver must be used?
Hi, I'm also searching for polyphonic converter. There are some hardwares - or AXON (seems tb phased out). As for VST - there is only one plugin working properly - Pitch a Bitch from but it is monophonic. I tried WIDIsoft demo, but it is not working good. Honestly, I've got some bullshit on output.
