Access dry signal

I record a guitar track using a VST effect. When I hear the effect I think this is called the "wet" signal. How do I then listen to the recorded track "dry" (I think this is the terminology), the same track heard without the effect?

Any advice on this appreciated. It would be fun to play with an effect, then remove the effect and listen, then reapply other effects.

Unless you changed the record mode on the track, it gets recorded dry and played back through the effect. All you should have to do is uncheck the effect in the FX window and it'll go away. If not, right-click the track's input and set the record mode to Input. That should fix it.
