Transport buttons seems to be slow...

Actually, I was also using Grizzly drum sampler, and it seems that that could have been the problem! It was designed as part of a KVR competition, so could well have been made with synthedit. DarkStar, where is b) turn on the Preference "Don't flush synthesiser plug-ins on stop option? I've looked under Audio/Playback and see only options to flush, not to not flush... Could you be more specific, and I'll try this option. Thanks again...

[Options] > Preferences > Plugi-ins > VST, in "VST Compatibility options"

brother john, there is an easy way to find any point in preferences ;) Just open preferences, put word synthesizer at very bottom left inputfield, press find button :)
