WAVES PRO FX

Hi people I am thinking about upgrading the computer from a P111 667 to something quite a bit larger to utilize some plug in power,such as the Waves software.IS anyone using similar plug ins and how good are they in respect to CPU usage,will a P3 1.3 gig processor be adequate.

A P3 1.3G will not be large enough. I think you want an Athlon 2200+ or higher, along with very fast memory, such as DDR. Just my thoughts...

I have been doing some research and I see what you mean,possibly a 1.7 gig processor and the ram to boot,can onyone tell me if the waves pro fx will run with pro tools version 5.0.1 or will I need to do the upgrade

Waves 3.5 is the most CPU friendly version yet. If you get the new PC, upgrade if possible but Waves will run anyway.

But a amd athlon xp 1700+ is also very nice for waves-plugins... That's what i got. And i have the native power pack...

I'm running Waves NPP with an Intel P4 1.4 ghz just fine! A XP2200 is nice but not necessary.
