Sony BDP S-350 Experiences with maximum Bitrate for AVCHD ?

I recently bought the fine Sony BDP S-350 Bluray SA Player. Now i want encode some Bluray/HD Sources to AVCHD/x264,1080p or 720p. Ive tested the standard megui x264 Profile for standalone AVCHD from Sharktooth with ~17Mbps maximum Bitrate/VBV Buffer. It plays 100% fine. Can anybody tell me what is the maximum Bitrate for AVCHD Discs (DVD5/9) to play it on the Sony BDP S350 ? thanks

I made Tests with the Sony BDP S350 AVCHD H(x)264 runs perfectly fine : 1280x720 Level 4.1 HP/ max. 9 Ref Frames , up to 25Mbps VBV Bitrate/Buffer /AC 3 5.1 640Kbps 1920x1080 Level 4.1 HP/ max. 4 Ref Frames,up to 25Mbps VBV Bitrate/Buffer /AC3 5.1 640 Kbps Works smooth from DVD-R(W) :)

Are you using b-pyramid?

Maybe out of I've read that b-pyramid counts for a ref, so max 8+b-pyramid for 720p and 3+b-pyramid for 1080p I wonder if that's still true, would you guys be able to test?
